The importance of sport
The Champion Group have been main sponsors of Basingstoke Rugby Football Club for over 7 years.
We were drawn to this exemplary club not purely because it is local, but because it’s driven by a true desire to encourage activity within the community and particularly amongst young people.
Over 200 children are involved in the club’s youth teams, and the sport is increasingly attracting active participation amongst females.
Such an integrated approach brings people together for a positive purpose and serves to enhance the social infrastructure of the area, as well as keeping many local people fit and ready for action.
In a co-funding initiative with Sports Match, we have also helped create a three-year contract for a Community Development Officer; the post is managed by the Institute of Sports Sponsorship, through Sport England.
We’re extremely proud of everything the club has achieved and of our relationship with it.

The importance of culture
Champion Build are proud to sponsor the Basingstoke Male Voice Choir. This melodious group of individuals offers a full season of concerts each year, invariably held to raise money for needy causes, both within the community and beyond. You can find out more about them at www.basingstokemvc.org.uk

Many of our staff are actively involved in helping other charitable causes and we encourage and support their efforts.
The ascent of Kilimanjaro
In 2007, Lee Champion was part of a team which climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, via the Lemosho route.
A dedicated effort, hard work, exacting physical demands and a considerable amount of inspired fund-raising was rewarded by his raising £1800.00 for the NSPCC.
The Group has so far raised over £10,000 for various UK charities.
