Champion Brickwork Contractors Ltd have laid over 50 million bricks and blocks since we laid our first one, in 1978.
If you laid them end to end they’d run for 6,680 miles.
The Great Wall of China is only 4,160 miles long and everybody refers to that as an impressive structure.
Before the use of bricks, the Great Wall of China was mainly built from earth, stones and wood. Builders always tried to use local resources and skills just as we do at Champion today. When building over the mountain ranges, the stones of the mountain were used; in the plains, earth was rammed into solid blocks to be used in construction. In the desert, even the sanded reeds and juniper tamarisks were used to build the Great Wall.
We’re pretty convinced that the structures we put in place today are about to stand the test of time equally impressively.
